STATEMENT OF THE MODERN ART OF THE 21ST CENTURY

This statement is simple and exposes the ideals which I consider that make the Modern Art of the 21st Century. Don't expect a long, extremely elaborated and/or philosophic Statement. I want that every person of all ages and social classes, who read it, can assimilate it and understand it minimally. With this said, I expose my basic ideas confronting Art with the historical epoch we're living, an epoch of excessive industrialization, money above all (or above most things), depression, indolence and very (and extreme) negativity.

- Chromatically it is suggested an evocation to dirtiness. Pure colours ceased to have a meaning in a corrupted age where "human" being is a man of concrete that breaths pollution by all the pores of its skin;

- Once and for all, all the barriers must be broken, all the obstacles that man imposed to its own, castrating itself in cold blood so the Art could only be understood by an elite;

- When in an artistic performance, shouldn't be suggested to think in something but to follow the feelings. I suggest that the (rational) thoughts and the book culture stop having its place in the Modern Art of the 21st Century. Arts must serve like an escape of the instincts in an extremely rationalized society;

- It's suggested that the artist recycles everything they can, and that way, they can bring such objects into its Art, transforming something classified as useless into an artistic object or part of an Art work through recycling;

- The Art not only as an end to the individual impose and shows a singular aspect but also as a way to spread its most varied ideas and/or impulses. In the field of Arts everything is valid, even rationalism if the individual opts for following that way;

- Art (in its majority) doesn't had the intention to throw the spectator to the empty ideas where it asks himself about what is or not philosophic in the work. For the contrary, the spectator must feel that he can make Art as well;

- The work of Art as a philosophic object of reflection no longer makes sense. It's time to break with the philosophies which only the elites understand. All the philosophy allied to Art chains the "human" being to obsolete ideas. Art is to be made by all the people so they can spread their mark and cultural contribute to "humanity";

- Art belongs to everyone and no one can or should take that away from people. Everyone has the right to express themselves with the own art, to expose its Art and to have its Art recognized in this world where we cross empty stares in the city streets and where there are lesser individuals and more "machine-men";

- Must be known that the biggest artists have always been, are and will always be the children. The Art made by a child it's the boom in the artistic career of a "human" being. While the person grows, its Art tends to be more rational and consequently getting degraded with "impurities";

- Now, the process of artistic production should start since the individual's birth until its Death. It's suggested that the individual's starts its artistic career at a tender age in the case it shows himself a child with curiosity in the field of Arts;

- Artistically it's suggested that must be exalted: Depression, Decadence, Politics, Stress, Ignorance, Violence, the incurable Diseases, Intolerance and everything that in a way or another defames and portraits the dirtiness that is "humanity";

- The Arts as a prophecy of an Apocalypse that will come soon, as the everlasting painful scream of the "human" race, its demise to the city-industrial monster, such as its extinction.

Hello to all. I would like you to read this carefully. If you agree with these words and in a way or another you identify yourself with it, don't hesitate, spread it, be it on your page, through chain-mail, whatever, it's really up to you. I don't want recognition with this, all I want it's to unite the artists so we can do something about the current situation of things and show people Art is beyond what it's hanging on galleries. I'm trying to recruit members to make a collective, a worldwide one made of people from every country. I can say that I have some ideas in my mind. Of course it will depends of the place where you live and if there are enough people there so you can make anything about it, like go to the streets and show Art to people (this is just an example...). Anyway, the more people who join, the better it gets. It really doesn't matter if people say you're a good or a bad artist as long as you do what you do with burning passion, that's the most important thing. Those who feel interested about the ideals stated here, please, don't hesitate and send me a mail or a message. Thank you if you take just a bit of your time to read my words, it's really appreciated.
Above lies the Statement of the Modern Art of the 21st Century... it was written in 2006 but the ideas behind it were in my head since 2004 and I just needed to organize them. I hope to hear from you all. Thank you in advance.
